Parents of children
interested in hunting will want to take notice of a new children's
book. Conner's Spring Gobbler, authored by Ohio turkey hunter,
Shawn Meyer, aims to increase curiosity and inspire hunting ethics
in children.
For many parents,
reading the story of Conner with their children will feel like
taking them back in time to a simpler, better era. Those weary
of political correctness will especially appreciate it as one
of very few children's books daring to depict children and guns
in the same context
As in his original story, Meyer's newest book is intentionally
packed with teachable moments- opportunities for dad and mom
to pause and discuss important themes with their kids. "I've
written these books hoping to contribute to the preservation
of our hunting heritage for future generations," Meyer explains,
"with many states experiencing a decline in the number of
hunters, my intention is to help reverse this trend, beginning
at the bedside."
